What is There Now?

Southern Campus Development

Winchester College’s Southern Campus lies between the sports ground on Kingsgate Park and the tennis courts on Norman Road. This area is the focus for the School’s indoor sports provision and includes a PE Centre, swimming pool, rifle range and squash courts. The adjacent Design & Technology department (Mill) sits between the sports complex and Kingsgate Road.

Although many of the current buildings are of substantial size, they are largely hidden from surrounding public roads and the wider landscape.

This area is also the location of the Works Department and other core support services for the whole School. There are parking areas serving these buildings with two vehicular access points off Kingsgate Road. On the western boundary, Antrim House facing St. Cross Road is used as a sanatorium and has separate parking for medical staff.

The PE Centre was built in the 1960s, and since then various other buildings have been added and modified. The site contains no buildings of historical or architectural significance.
